Our history
We established on 14-04-1999 under the Treaty of the Sahelo-Saharan States signed in Tripoli, Libya on 04-02-1998 by the Heads of State of the Sahelo-Saharan countries, and the most important objectives and specialties of the bank are:
- Carrying out all banking, financial and commercial activities related to the financing of projects of economic development and foreign trade.
- granting loans as well as promoting, arranging and securing participation in loans, bonds, bonds, shares and other securities to finance projects of economic development and foreign trade.
- Grant funding for studies on development projects.
- Contribution to the capital of institutions and companies.
- Arrangement of joint business operations for investment.
- practicing all types of investment banking business banking consultancy.
In light of these objectives and specialties, the Bank's activity is as follows:
i.Banking Activity:
BSIC provides banking services and financing domestic and international trade through branches located in Africa through Member States.
ii. Economic Development Activity:
The Bank finances economically viable projects through representation offices, branch networks or co-financing with international and regional development institutions.
iii.Funding areas and priorities:
The Bank gives priority to financing investment projects in the following areas:
- Agricultural processing
- Infrastructure
- Telecommunications
- International Trade
- Transport, tourism and other service activities
