Our history

We established on 14-04-1999 under the Treaty of the Sahelo-Saharan States signed in Tripoli, Libya on 04-02-1998 by the Heads of State of the Sahelo-Saharan countries, and the most important objectives and specialties of the bank are:

  1. Carrying out all banking, financial and commercial activities related to the financing of projects of economic development and foreign trade.
  2. granting loans as well as promoting, arranging and securing participation in loans, bonds, bonds, shares and other securities to finance projects of economic development and foreign trade.
  3. Grant funding for studies on development projects.
  4.  Contribution to the capital of institutions and companies.
  5.  Arrangement of joint business operations for investment.
  6. practicing all types of investment banking business banking consultancy.

In light of these objectives and specialties, the Bank's activity is as follows:

i.Banking Activity:

BSIC  provides banking services and financing domestic and international trade through branches located in Africa through Member States.

ii. Economic Development Activity:

The Bank finances economically viable projects through representation offices, branch networks or co-financing with international and regional development institutions.

iii.Funding areas and priorities:

The Bank gives priority to financing investment projects in the following areas:

  • Agricultural processing
  • Infrastructure
  • Telecommunications
  • International Trade
  • Transport, tourism and other service activities

BSIC  is a regional bank with a strong financial and moral base. It is a comprehensive bank that carries out all banking, financial and commercial activities related to all economic activities, foreign trade and all sectors of society.
